Our First Impressions
Evolve has done well at refining its models over time, making them less bulky. The GTX Series is an example with its great streamlined design. It is appealing in black with flashy gold accents, such as a cool Evolve emblem. While there are variations within the GTX lineup, we focus our review solely on the All-Terrain model. We think it’s very sleek looking.
Bamboo GTX All-Terrain: Best Features of this Evolve Electric Skateboard
The “X” in the GTX Series name refers to Extras, so we were eager to research all the features of this bamboo longboard. It offers a step above the Bamboo GT with these top features:
- Fast at up to 26mph
- Goes up steep gradients – up to 25%
- Multiple speed modes
4 Speed Modes for Different Skill Levels
One of the things we like most about this Evolve board is that it appeals to riders new to the electric longboarding scene as well as those who are more experienced. With more riding speeds than the Bamboo GT, it allows riders to get a safe ride and go at the pace they’re comfortable with given their experience. There’s also the handy ability to change speeds on the fly according to current road conditions.
The FAST speed will appeal to those who are experts at electric skateboarding or very familiar with the Evolve lineup. If you’re an adrenaline junkie then you’re likely to enjoy that the Bamboo GTX All-Terrain can go up to 26 miles per hour. This speed is faster than some other top 10 electric skateboard models. As for GT mode, it is one with big power and allows you to accelerate to go up hills with up to a 25 percent gradient. That’s steeper than a lot of boards out there, although you do pay a bit more than some other models to get it.
If it’s your first time on one of these longboards, or if it’s for a younger user, the SLOW mode will probably be ideal. Going slow allows the rider to be cautious and gives you time to get a feel for the way the deck moves on different terrain. Meanwhile, ECO mode is a great option for a laid-back ride.
More Benefits of the Bamboo GTX All-Terrain Skateboard
Evolve’s electric skateboard comes with a useful remote. It keeps you up to date on battery level, speed, range, and mode. Easily hold it in your hand on the go and see the settings clearly any time of the day with the cool LCD screen. What’s extra cool is that these updates happen in real time; change your speed, and you’ll see it there on the screen.
What’s more, the battery size of the Bamboo GTX All-Terrain is considerably bigger than the Bamboo GT. That explains how it has the power to go up such steep hills, in combination with the 300-watt motors. The oversized battery also provides awesome performance, including being able to go long distance.
It can go as far as 20 miles on a single charge, which gives you peace of mind while out running an errand that your battery is less likely to need charging mid-route. A downside though is the 4-5 hours of charging time needed to juice up the battery fully. The exact distance varies according to factors like weight and terrain. By the way, this Evolve electric longboard can carry up to 220 pounds.
Assessing Construction of the Bamboo GTX Series All-Terrain Deck
This bamboo electric longboard is built solid. It features a combination of quality 2 ply bamboo and 7 ply Canadian maple hardwood. The result is a deck with medium flexibility for more of a bump-free experience. The smoothness makes for a more enjoyable ride for any skill level, in our opinion. What’s more, the Super Carve trucks provide a reliable, stable base for carving or cruising. And they look great in fierce black. They are 12 inches wide. 306mm/12inch width. 306mm/12inch width.
As for the all-terrain wheels, they enable you to go on any surface you come across, which is perfect if you are out on the sidewalk and then come across a pebbled surface or another surface type. And it’s got a drop-down style that makes for great riding. The deck length is 38 inches, while the wheelbase is 29 inches.
Plus, there is regenerative braking built-in, which makes the Evolve GTX great for providing a feeling of control and helping to keep you safe as you go across different terrain. Roll to a full stop when you want with this latest braking system.
Final Words on Evolve’s Bamboo GTX All-Terrain Skateboard
Whether you’re a newbie or an expert at electric skateboarding, the Bamboo GTX Series All-Terrain deck can meet your needs. Choose from 4 different riding modes, according to your preferences, and go across any terrain. It can even go up 25-degree gradients for hills, which is awesomely steep. While this board is not the cheapest one out there, you do get a lot for your money, including plenty of power and performance from the motors and a big battery. The bamboo deck is well made too. We conclude our Bamboo GTX All-Terrain Electric Skateboards with these words: we recommend it.
